Below is a breakdown of street crime that has occurred in Beckton over the past week.
Burglary: There was an afternoon break in in Barry Road on 22/01/2026. A dark skinned male broke a window at the rear of the property and gained entry. There was an occupant upstairs napping at the time. They awoke and bravely scared the suspect off. Nothing was stolen.
Robbery: On 22/01/2026 a 15 year old student was robbed by another student near Kingsford Community School.
Snatch: On 24/01/2026 There was a snatch of a mobile phone near Beckton Bus Station *Advice* - Keep your phones in your pocket. Next time your out and about take a note of how many people walk with their heads down with phones in their hands. Don't be one of those people.
Theft: There was a distraction theft at the Sainsburys cash machine. *Advice* - If anyone tries to speak to you at the cash machine or tries to hand you a piece of paper, it is likely are after your bank card. Keep them at your back and don't be afraid to call for help.
Pickpocket: A male described as Mediterranean, 5'6" with short grey hair was suspected of a pickpocket in Lidl. Be advised he was suspected. not confirmed. Please DO NOT attempt to detain, chase, or subdue anyone fitting that description. This is for information only. Alert staff and security if you see anything suspicious.
Theft From Vehicle: Two more vans were drilled and tools were stolen from the premiere Inn carpark this week. No reports of any thefts elsewhere.
Vehicle Theft: Two cars stolen on the 22nd. A grey Hyundai from Gallions Road and a Grey Nissan from Kirkham Road.
